What to Expect
The Undignified Worship Experience is a ministry of Lorne Park Baptist Church. It is a unique experience meant to accent present church services. The intent of the experience is to invite people into an informal, authentic worship experience which is welcoming and is relevant to their situation. This is not intended to be church but will encourage involvement in church.
The Undignified Worship Undignified is geared towards youth in high school, University and beyond. It is a worship experience run a once a month with lots of music, good people, prayer and a short message from ourselves as well as special guest speakers. The service will run one Saturday each month from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Join us before 6:30 at around 6:00 for a time of fellowship and good eating. We serve an all-you-can eat meal for just $5!
The name Undignified is taken from 2 Samuel 6. King David brings the ark of the Lord into the City of David. In the procession he is worshiping God. His wife is not happy that he was worshiping so enthusiastically in front of servants and slaves. David replies “I will become even more undignified than this; I will be humiliated in my own eyes.
This passage was central in our decision when we discussed this worship experience. We wanted to create an environment where youth and young adults could worship freely, without concern of comment or criticism form others. It was felt that the name Undignified would encourage free expression of our love and gratitude to God.
